Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.River Edge is actively seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for Core Services who is energetic and enthusiastic. The ideal candidate will excel in completing nursing assessments, encompassing evaluations of food/nutrition and pain assessments. Additionally, the candidate will administer and monitor medication management regimens, making necessary adjustments based on a patient's condition under the supervision of qualified medical staff. The Licensed Practical Nurse will also demonstrate attentiveness to and promptly report any observed behavioral changes.     • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including evaluating food/nutrition intake and assessing pain levels in patients.
    • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects.
    • Administer prescribed medications to patients, adjusting dosage as necessary based on patient condition and under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians.
    • Monitor patients for any behavioral changes and promptly report any observations to the healthcare team.
    • Ensure proper handling, storage, and control of medications in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
    • Perform urine sample collection and blood draws from patients as required, and ensure proper labeling and submission to the laboratory for testing.
    • Educate patients and their families about symptoms, treatments, and medications, including proper administration and potential side effects.
    • Aid patients in completing necessary paperwork for patient assistance programs and assist with obtaining prior authorizations for medications or treatments.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all patient care activities, including assessments, medications administered, and any changes in condition, following established documentation protocols.
    • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or as dictated by the specific healthcare setting.
    • Adhere to all relevant internal and external regulations, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with legal and professional requirements in the healthcare setting.Qualifications
      • Current nursing license, in good standing with the Georgia State licensing board
      • Minimum of one (1) year Psychiatric experience.
      • All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
      • Provide 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members)
      • Must have knowledge and experience with the chronically mentally ill population.
      • Must have strong clinical skills.
      • Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
      • Must have ability to multi-task and remain organized.CompetenciesMedication Administration : LPNs must have proficiency in administering medications accurately and safely. Competency in assessing symptoms, recognizing abnormalities, and promptly reporting findings is essential for providing quality care.Documentation : Accurate and timely documentation is a critical aspect of nursing practice. LPNs should be proficient in documenting patient assessments, interventions, medications administered, and other relevant information in electronic health records or other documentation systems. This ensures continuity of care, supports communication among healthcare team members, and facilitates adherence to regulatory requirements.Communication : Effective communication is crucial in a healthcare setting, enabling LPNs to interact with patients, families, and colleagues. Clear communication ensures accurate transmission of information, fosters trust, and promotes positive patient outcomes.Empathy and Compassion : LPNs need to demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients who may be experiencing pain, discomfort, or emotional distress.
